Pastor's Message

Married in Turlock in 1984, Pastor Rick and Joan spent 20 of their 27 married years on the mission field with CAM International serving in the country of Mexico. From 1990 - 1995, four children were added to the Burnam home. The Burnams returned to the Turlock area in 2007 to help their oldest children transition from High School into College. In March of 2011 they added another member to their family when their son Jordan married Charlotte. Jordan and his twin, Jania, are now Seniors at California State University Stanislaus, their daughter Ashlee is a freshman at the same university, and the youngest, Alina, is a Junior at Turlock Christian High School. Joan is part of the faculty at Turlock Christian Schools Junior High and High School teaching Spanish.

Pastor Rick enjoys the great outdoors. He likes to backpack, fish and hike. He enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and family. Along with his responsibilities at Oakdale Community Church, Pastor Rick ministers to the prisoners of the US Penitentiary in Atwater on a bi-monthly basis.

Pastor Rick and Joan look forward to getting know the congregation of the church and reaching out to the community. Plans are already in the works for an evening of celebration of Christmas through music which will be directed by his wife Joan.
